Tanto is an independent news analysis app that delivers AI-generated summaries and commentary on current events across categories including world affairs, economics, technology, sport, culture, and science. Tanto is operated as an independent app and is not affiliated with any news organisation.
Tanto is available on iOS. These terms apply to your use of the Tanto app and any related services we provide.
You must be at least 13 years old to use Tanto. By creating an account, you confirm that you meet this requirement. If you are under 18, you confirm that you have your parent or guardian's permission to use the app.
Tanto is intended for personal, non-commercial use. You may not use the app on behalf of a business or organisation without our prior written consent.
To access certain features — including bookmarks, followed topics, and push notifications — you must create an account using Apple Sign-In or Google Sign-In.
You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. You must not share your account with others or allow others to access it. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at getbrief.app@gmail.com.
You may delete your account at any time from within the app via Settings → Delete Account. Deletion is permanent and irreversible. All your data — bookmarks, followed topics, and notification preferences — will be deleted immediately. For details of what data is held and for how long, see our Privacy Policy.

The content in Tanto — including headlines, summaries, contextual analysis, and data points — is generated using artificial intelligence informed by publicly available news sources. It is not written by journalists. It is not produced by a newsroom. It is not verified by editorial staff before publication.
Tanto is a starting point for understanding current events, not a replacement for primary news sources. For any topic of importance to you, we encourage you to read the original sources, which are attributed and linked in every story.
Tanto makes no warranty that the content is accurate, complete, or up to date. AI systems can produce errors, mischaracterise events, or reflect the biases present in their training data. We work to minimise this through editorial curation, but we cannot guarantee it.
Tanto covers economic and financial topics including markets, investing, business, and macroeconomic trends. Nothing in Tanto constitutes financial advice, investment advice, or a recommendation to buy or sell any asset. Content in the Economy & Markets category is provided for informational and educational purposes only.

Every story in Tanto includes attribution to the original news sources that informed the AI-generated analysis. Attribution is provided as a courtesy and for transparency. Tanto does not reproduce original articles verbatim, does not claim ownership of the underlying news events, and is not endorsed by or affiliated with any of the attributed news organisations.

Tanto does not support user-generated content. There are no comments, posts, or public interactions within the app.
The AI-generated text, headlines, analysis, summaries, and visual presentation within Tanto are the intellectual property of Tanto. You may read, share, and quote Tanto content for personal, non-commercial purposes, provided you attribute it to Tanto. You may not reproduce Tanto content in bulk, sell it, or use it to train AI models without our written consent.
The Tanto app, including its design, code, branding, and all associated materials, is owned by Tanto. Nothing in these terms grants you any ownership interest in the app. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app for personal purposes in accordance with these terms.
Original news articles, photographs, and other materials produced by third-party news organisations remain the property of their respective owners. Tanto does not claim ownership of any third-party content and does not reproduce it.
You retain ownership of your personal data. By using Tanto, you grant us a limited licence to store and process your data solely for the purpose of providing the service to you, as described in our Privacy Policy. We do not use your data for advertising or sell it to third parties.
With your permission, Tanto sends push notifications to let you know when new stories are available, typically twice per day. Notifications are never used for marketing, promotions, or third-party communications.
You can disable notifications at any time in iOS Settings → Tanto → Notifications. Disabling notifications does not affect your account or any other aspect of the service.
We aim to keep Tanto available at all times, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, technical issues, or circumstances outside our control.
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of Tanto at any time. Where a change materially affects your use of the service, we will provide reasonable notice within the app where practicable.
The content pipeline that produces stories in Tanto runs twice daily. Stories are automatically removed after 72 hours. We do not guarantee a minimum volume of stories or coverage of any particular topic or event.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if we have reasonable grounds to believe you have violated these terms, or if your use of the app is causing harm to the service or other users.
Where possible, we will contact you before taking action. If your account is terminated by us, you may contact us at getbrief.app@gmail.com to request a review.
You may terminate your own account at any time by using Settings → Delete Account within the app.
Tanto is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
